Koi Pond Portfolio - 2500 gallons, Kent

Built in 2006 by Nippon Nishikigoi this compact pond is unique in its design. Whilst it looks oridinary it is in fact a collection pool for an optical illusion, it has two very long streams which are fed from two large pumps to create the effect of water running down through the property from other ponds up above. It is still a good small pond in itself and is used for raising small koi on until large enough for the main pond above. The pond is built using traditional block, rendered and fibreglassed and finished with grey-green slate. The filtration is provided by a stainless steel system with japanese matting which was on a previous pond on the property, powered by two pumps and concealed under the decking viewing platform to the rear of the pond. The final landscaping included the long streams and basic planting around the pond.
